Exclusive partnership with Ulta Beauty
Introducing an exclusive retail partnership with Ulta Beauty, sk * p will now be available on the Ulta website and in over 700 Ulta Beauty stores nationwide starting in April. Full expansion across all 1,300 Ulta Beauty locations will launch in the third quarter of 2022.
sk * p will join Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty, the retailer’s holistic initiative rooted in providing transparency to inspire more informed product choices. The brand will also be included in SPARKED, a curated assortment of emerging beauty brands entering retail for the first time.
This launch makes Ulta Beauty the first retailer to offer guests hair and body care products packaged in the fully recyclable BeautyCarton paper, as the brand helps lead an industrial movement to reduce plastic.
‘Sk * p Swap’ initiative
Additionally, this month, sk * p will kick off a nationwide initiative that asks consumers to ‘sk * p Swap’ by swapping their plastic cosmetic bottle for BeautyCarton brands.
“Currently, the beauty industry contributes over 80 billion plastic waste to landfills and waterways every year. More than 500 million of those pieces alone are thick plastic shampoo bottles and less than 10% of plastic in general is successfully recycled, “said Mark Veeder, CEO and co-founder, sk * p.” This means that , if only 5% of plastic shampoo bottles were replaced with sk * p cardboard, there would be about 27.5 million fewer plastic bottles polluting our environment every year. “
The paper-based BeautyCartons from sk * p are not only shower safe, but are made with over 81% FSC certified paper, free from harmful chemicals (BPA or VOC free) and lightweight, so they have a footprint much less carbon than a plastic shampoo bottle.
During the months of April and May, sk * p will take their brand on the road to educate about the sk * p mission, their formulas and BeautyCarton. For 6 weeks, founders April Hardwick and Mark Veeder will visit over 100 stores in key regions of the United States in their mobile sk * p with activations at Ulta Beauty locations. Selected stops will include local influencer meetups and greetings, sk * p exchanges where consumers will swap an empty plastic shampoo, conditioner or shower gel for a full-sized sk * pa product, and more.
Inspire change through education
In addition to the brand’s initiatives to support consumer awareness nationwide, they also strive to inspire change through education by creating the industry’s first youth board.

This program aims to unify and nurture a diverse group of young people to become caring leaders and eco-entrepreneurs by connecting them with the tools and resources they need to bring their ideas to life. The brand will work to expand its board of directors with new members throughout 2022.
All sk * p products feature non-toxic formulas made without synthetic fragrances or dyes, silicones, sulfates, PEGS, parabens, phthalates or heavy metals. Each sale of sk * p helps support blue carbon restoration projects led by Sea Trees, a nonprofit that plants mangroves and restores kelp forests to regenerate the health of the oceans. The brand has committed a percentage of all channel sales to the cause.
