GETTING your haircut can cost a pack.
You could spend £ 15 at a barber shop, double that of a salon – and often a lot more.
Don’t trust your partner with scissors? Try these tips.
LOOK OF THE MODEL: Find salons that want models. Toni & Guy wants volunteers in London and Manchester to get a cut from their supervised academy students at a fraction of the standard cost. You could get your £ 10 hair cut.
Also check out the schemes run by the likes of Sassoon, Wella and Hob.
BACK TO SCHOOL: The London Hairdressing Academy offers discounted hair services if you book with a student who wants to hone their skills. Prices for a wet cut (short hair) start at £ 5. Your local college may also have their own beauty salon, which also offers budget trims.
CHANGE STORE: Change it from time to time and upgrade to a new hairdresser, as you may get a discount for new customers. Also, avoid the big brands and try smaller local businesses instead.
STYLE: Save money by opting for a newly qualified junior stylist at the salon, as opposed to a much more expensive senior stylist.
FIND A DEAL: Go to Groupon to find salons offering discounts of up to 70%. Also check out Wowcher and get 15% off first orders when you book through vouchercodes.co.uk/wowcher.co.uk. Don’t forget to look for discounts when using the Treatwell app as well.
OVERS: Look for sites like Book Marketplace, Gumtree, and the Nextdoor app for local mobile or freelance hairdressers who are happy to cut your hair at your home.
Because they don’t pay to be a part of a salon, they can afford to charge their customers less.
