Phoenix Fashion Week returns April 15-16

Among the notable experiences is the Little Black Dress Challenge in which Phoenix Fashion Week teamed up with Goodwill of Central Arizona. Open to the public, the challenge invites designers to try their hand at recycled fashion using Goodwill clothes from their neighborhood and competing for the chance to have their design on the runway on Friday 15 April. The natural evolution of Phoenix Fashion Week to offer greater sustainability in fashion, led the Mayor of the City of Phoenix, Kate Gallego, to proclaim August 22 as Sustainable Fashion Day. This distinguished honor inspired Phoenix Fashion Week’s first Green Carpet, launched in 2019.

Each morning, from 9am to 2pm, the two-day event will include a variety of fashion and business-focused seminars sponsored by the Arizona Department of Education and taught by industry experts, offering real insights and tools. to take away on how to successfully launch, market and run a long-term fashion business. This year’s seminar series will be led by the success story of Arizona fashion brand Mike Spangenberg of State Forty Eight and director of education, Alison Callaway.

On Saturday April 16, Phoenix Fashion Week will award both the “Designer of the Year” and the “Model of the Year” for men and women. The two winning models will each receive a full modeling contract from the industry leader, the Arizona Agency, successfully launching their careers. Also that evening, Hill and the Phoenix Fashion Week team will announce “Designer of the Year” and a $ 10,000 prize package including goods and services to ensure long-term brand success for the winning designer.

In addition to the fabulous designer shows, guests will enjoy an upscale experience that includes the new Chateau Luxe VIP champagne lounge, featuring gourmet hors d’oeuvres from two-time award-winning private chef Will Turner.
