Lubrizol Life Science-Beauty (LLS Beauty) has introduced its biotechnological ingredient Telophi (INCI: Not Provided), which helps restore the face to proportions and “Phi of beauty” symmetry (also known as the “golden ratio”). Telophi and another recently launched ingredient, PemuPur START, will be showcased at in-cosmetics Global 2022, alongside Lubrizol’s artificial intelligence (AI) collection, #skincaringmakeup.

According to LLS Beauty, the golden ratio is a project for the ideal harmony of the proportions of the face, which inspired the creation of Telophi. Represented by the Greek number phi, the ratio has been used in art, design and architecture to create “beautiful” objects.
Telofi And a biotechnological extract obtained from a Bacillus sp. isolated from the Florida Keys. Protects proliferating telocytes and epidermal stem cells from psychological stress to help preserve skin organization.
The natural balance of facial proportions can be altered by aging and psychological stress via the stress hormone cortisol, which damages skin cells in several ways.
Telophi has been shown in vitro to increase 19.6% of the skin cells of the telocytes, which are critical for repairing the skin structure and protecting against damage inflicted by cortisol.
Two in vivo studies were conducted on women between the ages of 35 and 50 who applied a cream containing 2% of the biotechnological ingredient or a placebo cream twice daily for 28 days. The results showed that the proportions of the face were brought closer to the phi ratio through a firmer skin and a lifting effect after 28 days; the symmetry of the facial oval contour improved by 6.3%; and the brightness increased by 13.9% and became more uniform after 14 days. In addition, the appearance of wrinkles has also decreased.
Telophi is indicated for daily facial skin care products that protect the skin from damage caused by psychological stress and for cosmetic formulations that improve the appearance of the skin.
To appreciate the source of the ingredient and to help restore the harmony of the ocean, LLS Beauty has donated to the Coral Restoration Foundation, the largest coral reef restoration effort on the planet. It is based in the Florida Keys, where the Bacillus species for the Telophi biotechnology ingredient has been isolated.
PemuPur START (INCI: Microcrystalline Cellulose (e) Sphingomona The polymer of the fermentation extract (e) of the cellulose gum) is a polymeric emulsifier of natural origin which improves the sensory characteristics of the product.
As previously reported, PemuPur START is a high performance emulsifier and rheology modifier, suspending agent and thickening agent.
It also gives it a refreshing texture, making it a basic solution from which to start building emulsions or / or. These characteristics, together with its limited surface activity, are said to favor the creation of delicate, fluid and sprayable emulsions suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
