Beauty editor Samantha McMeekin said Sunrise there are many good products for under $ 30 that will keep your skin hydrated in the colder months.
“The top three things you need to pay attention to in winter when it comes to skin are dryness, redness and dullness,” explained Samantha.
“Dryness is people’s main experience when heating increases and hot showers become a daily occurrence.
“Then there’s the dullness, because you’re losing that vitamin D every day, and the redness from sensitivity.”
Samantha said the first thing people should do is not put away sunscreen just because summer is over.
“Cancer Council is great if you hate the greasy feel of a sunscreen; it has a mattifying texture, so it’s great for everyone and excellent under makeup, “she said.
In terms of skin hydration, Samantha said people shouldn’t be afraid to try face oils.
“People always think face oils will always have a heavy texture,” she said.
“But something like rosehip oil is another great affordable purchase.
“It truly provides a nourishing and non-irritating finish to your skin.”
Samantha also recommends using a night mask to allow moisture to soak into your skin while you sleep.
Priceline offers an affordable brand called Skin Proud if you’re looking for good beauty products on a budget.
“This is really perfect if you don’t have time for a regular mask because you don’t have to wash it off,” he explains.
“You can apply a thin layer before going to bed, and this contains niacinamide, which is great for even skin tone and fighting fine lines and wrinkles.”
Kochie asked Samantha for a solution to what many eyeglass wearers face: what to do about the itchy skin behind the ears where the temples of the glasses rest.
“With itchy skin we often try to avoid moisturizing it,” said Samantha.
“But we really should be.
“Rosehip oil is great, or a fragrance-free moisturizer.”
